Whats better than a weekend getaway? With a $92 oneway ticket I hopped down to Okinawa for a fun beach expedition. I stayed in Ishigaki, one of the southern most islands of Japan. I think I was actually closer to Tawain and the Philipines than to mainland Japan 🙂
The low season officially starts after Japan's Culture Day. So the beaches were completley empty and practically had a resort to myself. With fresh sashimi, teppenyaki, Ishigaki beef, & Okinawa Noodles we ate like kings in this island paradise.
Besides beach bumming it I also went on a couple scuba dives. The best part was swimming and watching 8 manta rays come by "cleaning stations". The manta rays would come within inches of you head. It was incredible.
It is safe to say I CANNOT wait to go back. 🙂
It was BEAUTIFUL. I had no idea places like this existed in Japan.
