This Saturday I went the the African Festival in Yokohama. Yokohama is a lovely place so I couldn’t help but take lots of pics.
We crossed this brigde on a very windy, rainy day!

There’s a something like an amusement park next to the Cosmo Clock 21

There’s also a shp called the Nippon Maru

The event was held in the Red Brick House

They had a lot of performances using Djembe. The first performance was by a group called Assane Diabaye from Senegal.

The second performance was by Pasichigare Mbiras fro Zimbabwe

Sorry for my terrible pictures

There was also an AfricanJapone All Starz which invovled performances by Japanese people.

All the perfomances were great.

On the second floor they had little stalls for each country. I took lots of pictures for Ghana, but there were stalls for Angola, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Morocco, South Africa, Kenya and so many more…

They also had a games area with my favourite game Oware

I had fun teaching and playing with lots of Japanese families!

There was also a variation of African food available!

The 5th African festival was great, I recommend having a look next year!
