Hello! My name is Jeanine but everyone calls me by my nickname, Jae. I’m from California, U.S.A. and I love Japan!!!
I graduated from California State University of Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ethnic Studies. I’ve done a lot of volunteer work since my early teenage years. I’ve accomplished pen pal projects, canned food drives, teddy bear drives, clothing drives, lead petitions, staff appreciation days, award programs, special programs that help children and teenagers, food carnivals and fund raisers for the community. Meanwhile in University I tutored and mentored high risk and special ed students for 3 years.
I worked and traveled throughout Thailand for about two and a half years. I was an English Communication Development Program Teacher in various schools. My fondest memory of Thailand were the students. I enjoyed every teaching moment and community involvement I had while living so far away from my family and friends.
So, why Japan? Since childhood I was heavily influenced from international movies, music and news due to my father, who’s my hero. Most people don’t know about my background but that’s another story to share later. ^_^ Nonetheless, because of the way I was brought up to open my mind and see the world as a seed, I soon favored Japan. Japan’s culture, food and language is just simply amazing.
During my free time I like to read, cook, swim, volunteer, travel, chat, dance, karaoke, party, shop, hang out with my friends, listen to music, watch all sorts of anime, drama, movies and etc.
I’ve been with the Yadoya Guesthouse family for less than 2 weeks and it’s been great! The environment is clean, easy going and friendly. I highly recommend Yadoya Guesthouse when traveling to Tokyo.
